In commemoration to Dustin Finch who gave his life while serving this great nation to ensure the freedoms that we take for granted. Dustins parents, Beth and Aurther commissioned Artist Todd Krasovetz to paint an original portrait commemorating their son, as he is a “True American Hero” who will never be forgotten.
This 30 x 40 original painting shows Beth (mother: right) Sister (left) and the “second angel” Sargant Reeder (center) comforting the two with out stretched arms.
The background shows a wonderful dusk landscade overlooking a pond which is actually the back of their home in TN where Dustin grew up.
Faded high above is a portrait of Dustin shadowed by clouds with a faded hint of the American flag draped on the right-hand side to depict angel wings.
My son PFC Dustin Finch joined the army in the fall of 2009 as a Calvary Scout. He went to boot camp at Ft. Knox, Ky and then was stationed at Food Hood, TX with the 3rd Armored Cavalry. While at Fort Hood he was hand picked by the PSD for his great skills and dedication to his squad. He went to Iraq in Aug 2010 to serve and protect his country. While in Iraq he stood guard while highly ranked officials conducted meetings with the Iraq officials to make sure each one was protected. In Dec 2010 he came home to us, not to be living but as an AMERICAN HERO. The streets of our small town was lined with people holding american flags to show their respect for him. PFC Dustin Finch is truley an AMERICAN HERO. He gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. He will be greatly missed by all and forever loved by many. The heavens have a precious angel to watch over us now.
I found Todd by chance, I called the National Guard here and asked about a good military artist and they directed me to Todd’s web page. It has been great working with Todd on this painting of Dustin. We have talked numberous times via phone and internet. He listened to my memories of Dustin, I shared pictures of Dustin, and also shared tears. This painting is simply breath taking the way the colors of the sunset seem to change with the dimming of the day. He captured that special smile and eyes of Dustin in this painting. It has been some what of a healing progress for me with this lovely painting. Sgt. John Reeder, which was our CAO Officer, was there to get us threw everything when it was just a foggy daze. I thank him from the bottom of our hearts for everything he has done for us.
Thank you Todd for helping me to have a very special part of our life right in front of us in true color.
